Stiletto™ Extended Dwell Catheter

Enhanced Midline Catheter Performance with Peripheral IV Ease of Insertion
Back to Top
Overview

OVERVIEW

Guidewire-free Insertion Using a

Proprietary Catheter Advancement Mechanism

Insertion is as easy as "Stick-Flick-Click"

The Guidewire-free approach allows for over-the-needle access that is as easy as inserting a peripheral IV

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

The structural support provided by the sheathing cannula during insertion allows the catheter to be softer than the market leading competitive product, potentially improving biocompatibility and increasing dwell times.

Catheter is constructed from body-softening polyurethane.

Tip-3-1024x331.png

The reinforced catheter tip helps to prevent tip collapse during aspiration, potentially minimizing the risk of hemolysis or loss of catheter patency.

Stiletto’s catheter diameter to needle diameter ratio is larger than the leading market competitor.

Having a smaller needle relative to the catheter diameter potentially reduces the incidence of:

  • Infiltration/extravasation through improved sealing between the catheter and the vein wall

  • Phlebitis and thrombus though reduced vessel and tissue trauma

Bright Needle Tip

  • Echogenic needle tip aids in ease of vascular access using ultrasonography.

Clear Blood Flashback

  • Notches in the tip of the needle and sheathing cannula allow for rapid visualization of blood return along the length of the catheter immediately following venipuncture.

Easy to see Using Fluoroscopy

  • Radiopaque stripes run the length of the catheter, allowing for clear radiographic visualization without obstructing visualization of blood flash upon venipuncture.

Safety-1024x332.png

Upon full deployment of the catheter into the vessel, the needle tip is automatically sheathed inside the sheathing cannula, reducing the risk of needlestick injuries to caregivers and patients.

RESOURCES

Indications for Use

The Stiletto Extended Dwell Catheter is inserted into a patient's vascular system for short-term use (<28 days) to sample blood or administer fluids intravenously. These catheters may be used for any patient population with consideration given to adequacy of vascular anatomy and appropriateness of the procedure. The Stiletto Extended Dwell Catheter is suitable for use with power injection.

The Stiletto Extended Dwell Catheter is Covered by One or More of the Following Patent(s):
U.S. Patent No. 11,065,419
